Target: Chairman Lesly Smith of Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League
Goal: Help locate owner and seek justice for one-year-old dog abandoned in a kennel and suffering from mange.
A one-year-old dog was recently found abandoned and suffering severely from mange on the property of a man in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was locked in a small kennel and left on the roadside without any protection from sun or weather. She didn’t have food or water, and it’s a miracle they found her still alive. She is also suffering from mite infestation, and both leave her itchy and sore and ravaged by open wounds.
She, unlike many in her situation, is lucky that Captain Walesky was checking on his property that morning and found her. However, despite her rescue and the care she is currently receiving, her previous owner is unknown. This person would face charges of neglect and animal cruelty. Instead of seeking out proper care or even someone willing to care for their dog, they left her to die on a roadside, trapped in a cage. Too often people escape justice by dumping animals and anonymously disappearing, and more animals could come to suffer at their hands.
As a community, Palm Beach should reach out to try and find this person and make sure they face consequences for their cruelty. For this to happen, people need to know about this dog’s plight, and perhaps someone will come forward to say they saw the vehicle or license plate of the person who dumped her. Please sign and urge the Peggy Adams Rescue League to get involved in aiding the search. Fliers, volunteer efforts, or just asking around would all help locate and remove one more animal abuser from the streets.
Dear Chairman Smith,
A dog was abandoned early Saturday morning in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was locked in a small kennel with no protection or sustenance and suffering from mite infestation and mange. She was abandoned and left to die, while her abuser walked free due to anonymity. While the dog is being treated now and will hopefully find a loving home, another animal could be her if this unknown person continues to remain free.
As an organization, Peggy Adams is in a position to rally people behind a cause or at least help spread the word about a situation. While it is not a guarantee that even with Peggy Adams’ involvement the person will be found, it drastically improves the chances. Please help spread the word–help call the Palm Beach community to action in searching for someone who may have seen the dog being abandoned or knew the owner in some way. Help prevent other animals from being put through the same disgusting neglect and cruelty that was practiced on this dog.
