Target: Alison Saunders, Director of the Crown Prosecution Service

Goal: Punish woman found guilty of operating a dog fighting training camp to the fullest extent of the law.

A woman in Slough, United Kingdom has been found guilty of training dogs to fight. The woman, named Julie Wright, was sentenced after being found guilty of two charges related to dog fighting. Alongside two pit bulls, including one scared female named Honey, investigators found dog fighting paraphernalia at the woman’s home. She had also been reportedly linked to dog fighting circles back in 2014.

Despite being found guilty, Wright has only been given an 18-week suspended prison sentence, ordered to pay £1,000 in costs ($1,400) and banned from owning dogs for 10 years. This is not a sufficient punishment for someone who has been found guilty of such a severe crime against animals. Moreover, Wright is reportedly appealing the conviction. Sign this petition demanding that this woman be more severely punished as well as banned from owning animals for life.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mrs. Saunders,

A woman named Julie Wright was recently found guilty of training dogs to fight, yet she was only given an 18-week suspended prison sentence, ordered to pay £1,000 in costs ($1,400) and banned from owning dogs for 10 years. This is not a sufficient punishment for someone who has been found guilty of such a severe crime against animals. Moreover, Wright is reportedly appealing the conviction.

Please ensure that this woman is more severely punished for her crime and is banned from owning animals for life.

Sincerely,

  1. Victoria Thomas says:

This is a completely false petition, Ms Wright was charged ONLY with keeping Type dogs and equipment for use in dog fighting, I.e a treadmill (belonging to her daughter, long disused), and an A Frame, used for agility training. A breed expert has examined both dogs and declared that neither is a banned breed and should no longer be held as such. Please note that the RSPCA prosecuted, not the police and that not one mark or scar was found on either dog at the time of seizure

Message to Annissa Putois, your petition is completely libellous and has been handed to Ms Wright’s solicitors, who WILL take action if this petition isn’t removed
