Justice for Cows Allegedly Abused by Farm Employees

Target: Christopher E. Hinkson, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of British Columbia

Goal: Punish dairy farm employees charged with animal cruelty to the fullest extent of the law.

Cows were cruelly abused at the hands of six employees of a dairy farm in British Columbia, alleges activist group Mercy For Animals. A video reportedly taken at Chilliwack Dairy Farm shows employees punching and kicking cows as well as whipping them with chains and beating them with rods. In one instance, a terrified cow is hung from a chain wrapped around her neck as a worker shouts “Leave her like that.” Other cows were reportedly moved by yanking them from chains around their necks with forklifts.

The men allegedly responsible were recently charged with twenty counts of animal cruelty. The maximum penalty they face is two years in jail and a fine of up to $75,000. Unfortunately, perpetrators of animal abuse often get off with small fines and little or no prison time. This gives the mistaken impression that abusing animals is only a minor offense. Sign this petition demanding that these men and their employer, Chilliwack Dairy Farm, be given the maximum fines and prison sentences possible and that they all be banned from owning animals for life.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Chief Justice Hinkson,

Chilliwack Dairy Farm and six of its employees were recently charged with twenty counts of animal cruelty for causing distress to animals. Footage shows these men allegedly kicking cows, whipping them, and beating them with rods. The men also reportedly hung cows from chains.

Perpetrators of animal abuse unfortunately often get off with small fines and little to no prison time. This gives the misleading and harmful idea that mistreating an animal is only a minor offense. Please ensure that Chilliwack Dairy Farm and its six employees charged with cruelty are given the maximum fines and prison sentences possible, and that they are all banned from owning animals for life.

Sincerely,

  1. these workers need chains around their necks now for abusing cows now.

  2. Mary Thomas says:

Cruelty to animals is like cruelty to children, neither can defend themselves and are absolutely vulnerable. It should carry the same penalty. Hell has a VIP ‘Special Reserve’ region for these sadists.

  3. What brings a human being to do something like Abuse animals to the point where they are sadistic ! These dairy cows are subjected to the most cruel kinds of abuse, from beatings, stabbed with pitch forks, beaten with chains and punched and kicked . The most discussing thing I have learned, is that many of the dairy workers stoop so low is to RAPE the cows for their own pleasure! What is wrong with people …….

  4. Wendy Morrison says:

These workers need the exact same torture as they did to these defenseless innocent cows before throwing their sorry Burts on prison as is!!!!!

  5. This kind of abuse is not an exception, but seems to be a rule in factory farming. Whether cows, pigs, chicken, turkeys, calves. There is plenty of hidden camera footage to see this. Factory farming is wrong, terribly wrong and must be stopped. It is a catastrophe for the animals stuck in this hell, for the people who consume the products, for the environment.

  6. kay allan says:

I REALLY WOULD JUST LOVE TO SEE THE SAME THINGS DONE TO THESE SICK COWARDS, WHAT A WAY TO EARN A LIVING, THERE IS SOMETHING QUITE WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE, HOW BRAVE THEY MUST FEEL, TORTURING ANIMALS THAT CANNOT HELP THEM SELVES, SICK BASTARDS, THEY SHOULD LOSE THEIR JOBS AND BE MADE TO PAY DEARLY.

  7. These idiot-monsters belong in prison — their sadistic acts are unconscionable, immoral, merciless, needless — five yrs & a $50,000 fine is in order — this should make them rethink their horrific savagery — how these animals must suffer day in day out — the employees’ punishment should be SEVERE — THESE IMBECILES HAVE NO RIGHT TO inflict such TORTURE on animals — Society MUST ensure there are NO REPEATS of such crimes against animals.

  8. I hope all the people boo hooing about the cruelty to cows are not eating animal flesh and drinking goat/cows milk. YOU are driving the demand that leads to this kind of cruelty. You just remove yourself from it. There is no such thing as humane agriculture. You are just fooling yourself.

  9. They should ALSO be banned from ever working around ANY animals ever again. Once a violent abuser, always a violent abuser, unless they happen to get an AWFUL lot of different types of holistic treatment, which almost NEVER happens…meaning they simply can’t be trusted again in society.

And the dairy industry is one of the MOST cruel ones out there; even worse than the “meat” industry. Just stop buying dairy, if you most effectively want to help those poor cows in the shortest amount of time. If even 50% of people did that, the industry would go belly-up in short order.
