Stop Ignoring Cruel Puppy Factories

Caged-by-Localpups.jpgTarget: Mike Baird, Premier of New South Wales, Australia

Goal: Stop ignoring pet cruelty and start implementing appropriate measures to end puppy mills.

Animal rights groups accused the New South Wales government of ignoring pet cruelty, despite public outcry for change. A government report shows that the government ignored recommendations that would help prevent cruel puppy factories from developing, and improve practices surrounding commercial breeding of companion animals. Even after investigations found hundreds of dogs to be living in horrific, prison-like conditions, animal welfare groups say that the area is severely lacking compared to other states. The founder of Oscar’s Law accused the government of protecting commercial interests of puppy farms and she stated that the response of the government showed that officials are “a friend of the industry, not of animal welfare.”

One of the ignored strategies to prevent the problem of these sick factories included a requirement to notify animal protection bodies when an application to develop a breeding facility came in. This would be a small step in the right direction, but it seems the Baird government is would rather ignore the issue all together or else they would’ve allowed this idea to be implemented. Instead, Minister Baird showed that the breeders are more important to him than the animals, saying that “it’s important that we don’t punish the breeders who are doing the right thing.

It seems that the prime minister has his priorities mixed up. These innocent animals who can’t defend or speak for themselves should be the top priority, not the breeders who are using the poor animals for money. Please sign this petition to demand that the prime minister stop ignoring this crucial issue and start implementing appropriate measures to end the cruelty in puppy factories.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Premier Baird,

It has come to our attention that the NSW government has basically ignored the many ideas recommended by animal groups to help stop the horrid conditions for dogs living in puppy factories. Investigations turned up hundreds of dogs living in deplorable conditions within these factories, yet many of the strategies recommended to help stop the cruelty were ignored. It even appeared by your statements that the breeders themselves were of most importance to you.

We urge you to make these innocent, defenseless animals your top priority and implement appropriate strategies to ensure their safety from cruel conditions in puppy factories.

Sincerely,

  2. Mike Baird would fit right in with big oil and fracking supporters. Maybe he just takes bribes. Why else would anyone otherwise NOT TRY TO HELP! Leeches of the world in positions of authority is Hell on earth.

PLEASE DO THE RIGHT THING MR. BAIRD!
God is alive and waiting for us to ask Him to “help” you learn about life. So here goes, “Oh God my Father whom I love more than life itself, please help this man from Australia. I know you love him and want him to see the error of his ways. So help him now through my love for him and Jesus Christ.” amen.

  3. Yes God is watching and waiting, do not underestimate the Lord. Stop the puppy mills, stop CRUELTY!

  4. Bear de Mel says:

Animals cannot vote, but those who love and support them can, if only for this reason, please take seriously the cruelties involved in puppy farms and the pet trade in general.

  5. MY LAST BABY CAME FROM ONE OF THESES EVIL PLACES WHICH WAS REPORTED AS SOON AS I GOT OUT OF THERE, BUT BLESS HER SHE WAS USED TO BREED, AND IT TOOK A LONG TIME BEFORE SHE STOPPED TREMBLING, SHE WAS IN A TERRIBLE STATE, I HAD TO TAKE HER STRAIGHT TO THE VETS, BUT SHE IS A BEAUTIFUL DOG NOW, BUT STILL VERY CLINGY BUT I LOVE IT.
