Demand Company Stop Using Fur and Down

Geese PETA

Target: Dani Reiss, CEO of Canada Goose Inc.

Goal: End Canada Goose’s use of cruelly-obtained fur and down in their products.

Many of Canada Goose’s products feature fur and down, which both come from the bodies of tortured animals. Canada Goose is a popular retailer known for its cold weather clothing.

The fur used comes from wild coyotes. Traps are used to catch the animals where they can spend several days. These coyotes face many hardships including blood loss, gangrene, dehydration and shock. If the coyote is still alive when the trapper returns, they are typically strangled, stomped on, or bludgeoned to death. The down comes from geese and ducks that also face hardships and painful deaths.

There are many cruelty-free alternatives that can be used to replace down and fur. It is time to take advantage of these alternatives and to stop the needless suffering. Sign this petition and demand Canada Goose starts using these alternatives.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Reiss,

Your company, Canada Goose, is known for providing quality outerwear for cold weather. Unfortunately, many of your products use fur and down which come from the bodies of tortured animals.

The fur comes from wild coyotes which are caught using traps. The coyotes can be stuck in the traps for days and face blood loss, gangrene, dehydration and shock. If the coyote is still alive when the trapper returns then they are typically strangled, stomped on, or bludgeoned to death. The down used in your products comes from geese and ducks that also face hardships and painful, violent deaths.

Thankfully, there are many cruelty-free alternatives available nowadays. It is time to start using these alternatives and to end the needless suffering. No animal’s life is worth an article of clothing.

Sincerely,

  1. There have been loads of petitions asking Canada Goose to stop this barbarity but they refuse to listen.
The only other way is to publicise their despicable activities far and wide. Tell anyone and everyone, letters to newspapers, campaigns and parades outside their shops, hand out leaflets to the public. Literally shame them in public. Petitions to these moons will not do anything.

I believe there is a video of a wolf being snared and shot for Canada Goose, on Facebook but I cannot locate it.

  2. Heather Brophy says:

Reiss, YOU GREEDY CRUEL BASTARD, STOP IT NOW!

  3. Wes Chandler says:

This is unacceptable. I’ll be writing a public expose in the New York Times if this is not stopped. Be warned.

  4. THIS IS SO SICKENING AND NOT NEEDED AT ALL, HOW CAN A HUMAN BEING JUST BE SO EVIL VILE SICK AND TWISTED, TO DO THIS TO HELPLESS ANIMALS, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THESE LOW LIFE BASTARDS TREATED THE SAME WAY, AND THE PEOPLE THAT BUY SUCH THINGS NEED TO BE SHOWN HOW THEY HAVE COME BY THE THINGS THEY BUY. GOD HELP THE ANIMAL WORLD, WHAT CHANCE HAVE THEY GOT.

  5. This is barbaric and extremely cruel. Every animal has a right to live , should be treated with respect and should have quality of life. No animal should suffer .Animals are not here for our entertainment. Anyone who inflicts pain on any animal the same should be done to them .

  6. Indeed there are many cruelty-free alternatives available nowadays. Thanks to technology various online websites offer synthetic down and skin these days. Canada Goose’s please end the use of cruelly-obtained fur and down in your products. It’s time for a phase out.
