Target: John P. Hayes, CEO, President and Chairman of HomeVestors of America
Goal: End the use of monkeys in advertisements, which deprives them of anything close to a natural life.
A commercial featuring a capuchin monkey is currently being run by HomeVestors of America, better known as We Buy Ugly Houses. Animals used in the entertainment industry as “actors” typically face many hardships.
Monkeys used for film and television are deprived of everything natural to them including companionship, their living environment, and their natural diet. All of this leads to debilitating loneliness and depression.
When the monkeys’ prime years are over, most are discarded into the pet trade where they continue to lead a life of deprivation. Sign this petition and tell HomeVestors to leave animal “actors” out of their future advertisements.
Dear Mr. Hayes,
Your company, HomeVestors of America, has recently released a commercial featuring a capuchin monkey. Animals used in the entertainment industry as “actors” face many hardships behind the scenes.
Monkeys used for films and television are typically taken away from their mothers at a very young age. Then they are deprived of everything natural to them including companionship, their living environment, and their natural diet.
When the monkeys become too old, they are often discarded into the pet trade. These years upon years of deprivation lead to debilitating loneliness and depression. Please consider not using animal actors in future advertisements. These monkeys deserve a happy life rather than one forced to perform for the entertainment of people.
