Demand Siegfried and Roy Stop Breeding Animals

Siegfried & Roy are two German-American former entertainers who became known for their appearances with white lions and tigers.
From 1990 until an injury ended their stage careers on October 3, 2003, the duo formed the show "Siegfried & Roy At The Mirage", which was regarded as the most-visited show in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The magic word of the duo was "SARMOTI" (Siegfried And Roy, Masters Of The Impossible"). This image was taken of Siegfried & Roy and their white lion in their private apartment in Las Vegas.

Target: Tom Vilsack, USDA Secretary

Goal: Stop Siegfried and Roy from breeding large cats after cubs in their care died of kidney failure.

The infamous entertainers Siegfried and Roy are known for their appearances using big cats. The two have been breeding and training large cats for years. Recently, two young cubs died reportedly of kidney failure. It is very rare for cubs to die of kidney failure and it was most likely due to the over-breeding and inbreeding of these large cats.

PETA’s wildlife veterinarian Dr. Heather Rally stated that “Siegfried & Roy have spent decades breeding animals prone to congenital defects for the sole purpose of parading them in front of an audience.” Inbred tigers are prone to deformities and injury.

Sign this petition and demand the USDA bans Siegfried and Roy from breeding these large cats. They have no conservation value and only lead to future injuries.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Vilsack,

Siegfried and Roy have been performing and putting on shows for decades now. The famous duo are known for their appearances with large cats. The two have been breeding and training large cats for years now in order to continue their shows.

Recently, two tiger cubs died reportedly of kidney failure. It is very rare for cubs to die of kidney failure. PETA’s wildlife veterinarian Dr. Heather Rally believes it was due to the over-breeding and inbreeding of these large cats. Inbred tigers are prone to deformities and injuries.

These tigers hold no conservation value and are only used for profit. It is time we stop this blatant animal abuse. Please consider banning Siegfried and Roy from breeding animals in the future.

Sincerely,

  1. This ‘entertainment’ duo DISGUSTS me, and always have. I’ve seen their “display”/zoo in the back of the Mirage in Vegas, and it’s an abominable existence for these animals. The entire “exotic animal” industry is rife with abuse, death, and horrific carnage. No one should be breeding ANYBODY for ‘entertainment’ or sale, AS IF animals are nothing more than table lamps! And no TOURISTS should be FUNDING all this abuse by going to their awful shows!!!

It’s always the same story isn’t it money comes before the welbeeing of the animals. Its time that they put a law against this.

  4. I have also seen the zoo in Vegas. I was utterly shocked. The cats slept the whole time it was totally unnatural. They were in small cages with fake grass. The noise that they have to put up with is awful for them. Every night next to the mirage they have a volcano display it’s so loud for these poor animals. It must be such a miserable existence for the poor lions. I’m glad you have brought attention to this
