Cat and Dog Allegedly Assaulted by Caretaker Deserve Justice

Target: David R. Shannon, State’s Attorney for Litchfield County, CT

Goal: Prosecute man accused of harming and killing pets to fullest extent.

A months-long animal cruelty investigation has led to the arrest of a man under suspicion for seriously injuring his dog and killing his cat. Fortunately, the dog has since been adopted into another home. Justin Kontout was arraigned on animal cruelty charges.

Neighbors said a commotion could be heard at Kontout’s residence, followed by a prolonged period of howling from the dog. Tragically, when they arrived on-scene officers discovered a deceased cat named Sophia. Reports described the feline as having “significant injuries,” and a knife was apparently found at the site. The dog, described as a hound mix, had been evaluated by animal control officers following the incident. They reported injuries to the animal’s head, hip, and leg.

Sign the petition below to urge just punishment for the accused if found guilty.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Shannon,

Investigators reportedly took months gathering evidence in the animal cruelty case brought against Justin Kontout. This case is so disturbing because it involves not one but two innocent alleged victims. If reports are true, this dog and cat endured a great deal of pain that ultimately took the life of one animal.

Please proceed with the same due diligence as investigators. Pursue the maximum possible punishment in this callous and lethal apparent act of animal cruelty.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

He’s trying to blame it on being high on mushrooms. That’s NO EXCUSE. Other people have done mushrooms and not abused, tortured or killed animals.
He’s simply a sadistic POS. Lock him away for as long as possible.

The laws must change! We can no longer tolerate this kind of blatant animal cruelty.. They must be punished, serve time behind bars and be expected to pay a fine. I am so tired of animals being treated like trash!! TIME MUST BE SERVED!!
