Save Lions from Extinction

Target: Luke Hunter, President of Panthera

Goal: Save the lion populations in Africa from going extinct.

Lion populations in parts of Africa have fallen drastically in recent years and a new study has predicted that the population will be cut in half over the next two decades unless something is done to promote major conservation of the animals. There have been huge decreases in the lion populations in Central and West Africa and it looks as though lions are already extinct in Comoé National Park and Mole National Park.

Lion populations in Southern Africa have remained stable or even increased due to fenced wildlife preserves that protect lions. Furthermore, national policies in the area give wildlife ownership to landowners and communities rather than businesses that thrive on tourism or big game hunting. We must implement similar programs throughout all of Africa to save these precious cats.

It has been estimated that about 20,000 lions remain in Africa. If officials don’t take action now, these beautiful creatures could become extinct soon. Major conservation efforts must be launched in order to stop the predictions of the study. Help protect the lion populations in Africa and keep them from going extinct.

Dear Mr. Hunter,

You recently conducted a study on lion populations in Africa that had disturbing results. Hearing that lion populations in parts of Africa have fallen drastically in recent years and are predicted to cut in half over the next two decades is devastating. However, it does seem like there’s hope when we look at populations in other areas that have some conservation efforts going on to save the lions.

A major conservation plan must be rolled out in order to save lion populations that are declining and could eventually face extinction. I urge you to work with African officials to create conservation plans to save the lion populations in Africa and keep them from going extinct. I support your work and I hope you continue to fight for these beautiful creatures.

  1. Save what’s left of the animals! We don’t want a world where our children and grandchildren cannot behold the beauty, majesty and wonder of God’s creatures! Such a time will come if we take animals for granted and not care for them or protect them from greedy, selfish, mercenary, abusive, materialistic men!

  2. michael guest says:

This is very serious. We need to protect and save imperiled wildlife species before they vanish. Otherwise they won’t be around for future generations to see them. We can’t let that happen. Take action now!

  3. Lisbeth Alvarado Sanchez says:

We must do everything within our power to protect this beautiful animals.

  4. I’m not sure landowners care much for the preservation of wildlife unless it makes them money. Let’s not forget that most landowners in Africa are also big game hunting businesses, including canned hunting.

No, get rid of the money grabbing, ignorant, egoistic governments and replace them with more intelligent, fully committed, responsible people who aren’t afraid to stand up to big landowners.
Form a proper United African Congress that will take responsibility of what happens in the whole of Africa, like the EU, and hold them answerable for the welfare of Africa’s wildlife.

Ban all trophy hunting, canned hunting, and driven hunts. Get rid of Chinese investors.

  5. The only thing people wants is MONEY. And why ? I don’t know; when you’re death it is useless. No, the best is to save the earth for later then to let it destroy it now.
There are already 3 billion humans too much on earth, so get rid of all the poachers, hunters, drugsmakers and -bosses, warmakers, idiot fundamentalists who wants an own state and
people who wants to live forever.
When it’s gone, it’s gone forever, so save the all the animals.

  6. Your mission, our mission, is to protect ALL of our animals — believe it or not, each & every animal has a purpose in the grand scheme of things — our earth, our planet NEEDS our wild animals — moreover, we humans do NOT have the RIGHT to murder, to kill off our animals no matter what the reason — our planet’s animals were born into the world for a reason — they have every RIGHT to their own lives — we MUST protect them — we MUST ensure they live happily, comfortably & in good health — we MUST not lose them — we CANNOT lose them.
