Demand Kikkoman End Cruel Animal Testing

Kikkoman Richard Masoner

Target: Noriaki Horikiri, President and CEO of Kikkoman

Goal: End Kikkoman’s cruel and unnecessary animal testing.

An investigation led by the animal rights group, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), found that the food company Kikkoman is allegedly performing cruel and unnecessary tests on animals. These tests include having feeding tubes shoved down animals throats to force feed them, purposely feeding high-cholesterol diets to prompt heart disease, and creating obese mice to kill them and study their interiors. These animals do not deserve this fate. We must take action to save these animals from Kikkoman’s inhumane grasp.

These experiments are not required by law and similar companies have found other ways to perform tests without the use of animals. More effective studies can be conducted on human tissue without cruelty to innocent creatures. Performing safe studies on human volunteers or human tissue actually yields more accurate results.

Many people are aware that animal tests are performed for medical research and for cosmetics. However, many are unaware that a number of food companies perform animal testing. Thankfully, this is becoming more uncommon. Major companies like Barilla, Coca Cola, Welch’s and Ocean Spray have banned these practices and it is time that Kikkoman do the same. Sign this petition below and demand Kikkoman follow the trend by ending its cruel and unnecessary animal testing.

Dear Mr. Horikiri,

As you may know, the animal rights group PETA investigated into your company. They found that you are allegedly performing cruel animal experiments, which include force feeding animals by shoving tubes down their throats, purposely feeding high-cholesterol diets to prompt heart disease, and creating obese mice to kill them and study their interiors.

These tests are not required by law and many companies have decided to take a stand against animal testing. Barilla, Coca Cola, Welch’s and Ocean Spray have banned animal testing in their companies and I think you should too.

However, if you still want to do research, there are many ways to do so without the cruelty. Animal testing is a thing of the past. Human tissues and human volunteers are available to use. Not only does this end the cruelty but also produce much more accurate results.

The tests being performed are unnecessary and causing great pain and even death to many animals. I urge you to please stop animal testing. Consider the lives you could spare by ending animal testing at your company.

This is NOT science! Science is either observing and recording natural phenomenon or creating controlled experiments using exact factors. Animal life is an ever changing, unique set of data that cannot and should not be replicated. No wonder there is so much more disease than health overall. All most these labcoats do is create more and more diseases and more and more suffering. Start observing the habits of healthy humans and stop torturing the millions tiny souls who have simply had the misfortune of being born in a time of human ignorance.

  3. This cruelty to animals should come to a STOP, especially in this day & age — there are in existence alternative non-lethal, humane methods (used by many reputable institutions & corporations) for research NOT using animals — what’s more, these experiments on animals are useless & impractical — they benefit no one, not humans, not animals.

I am appalled that a company whose products I use is engaged in animal cruelty…you no longer have this customer. Please stop these cruel and ugly practices…
