Support Homeless Man who Rescues Dogs

Target: Arkansas Governor, Asa Hutchinson

Goal: Seek help for a kind-hearted man who saves animals despite his poor status.

Alicia, a woman from Arkansas, recently discovered a man carrying dogs as she was driving home. Alicia saw the man having difficulty pedaling his bicycle while also carrying some dogs. Alicia ignored the man, but the sight stuck in her mind, as there was something special about the man and the dogs. Later, Alicia spotted the same man on the same road, and that is when she decided to investigate his story.

Alicia later discovered that the man, Steve, had been homeless since 2001, but that did not deter his dedication in saving animals who suffered from neglect. Steve had put whatever he had into keeping these animals and had helped over 50 dogs in the last few years.

When Alicia met Steve, he was planning to cover a 2,000-mile journey with his 10 dogs to see his girlfriend in Indiana, who also happens to be a dog lover. Unfortunately, Steve’s “bicycle trailer” had a flat tire, and he was planning to set camp under a shady tree to give the dogs a chance to rest and relax.

Alicia was touched by Steve’s story, and she bought food and supplies for his pups. Later, she and her mother consulted the Facebook community to seek help in setting up an online fundraiser that could help Steve and his animals. In a few hours, the message had been received by some animal advocates around the world who sent donations for supplies, food, treats and a hotel room for Steve and his “family.”

A Good Samaritan volunteered to drive Steve to Indiana where Steve and his girlfriend were introduced to another animal advocate who ran an organization that specifically worked with homeless people and their pets. Steve also received a new trailer so his dogs would never be homeless again.

Thanks to these Good Samaritans, Steve and his pets have been given a new life and meaning. However, more help is needed to improve the livelihood of such a kindhearted man. Please sign the petition below to encourage additional support for Steve and his beloved pets.

Dear Governor Hutchinson,

The journey of a homeless man and his dogs came to a happy conclusion after Good Samaritans offered help. After traveling over 2,000 miles with nothing but his bike, Steve and his “family” have finally found a home.

Despite being homeless since 2001, Steve continues saving animals that have been neglected. According to his estimations, Steve has adopted around 50 animals because he found in it in his heart to do so despite facing financial challenges and lacking a home for himself.

Steve’s story is an inspirational tale of how someone can overcome their personal challenges to help improve the lives of animals. While we applaud the Good Samaritans who have already helped Steve, that is not enough for such a kind heart. I urge you to support this man because of the dedication he has shown in protecting animals. Please do all that you can to provide Steve everything he needs to live a happy, healthy life and to continue caring for stray animals.
