Shut Down Infamous Puppy Seller

Target: Broward County Court

Goal: Shut down cruel and notorious puppy sellers James and Gilda Anderson.

For the third time, consumers who say they purchased sick and dying puppies from notorious dog sellers James and Gilda Anderson are asking the Broward County, Florida Circuit Court to hold the Andersons accountable.

Jonathan R. Lovvorn, vice president and chief counsel for animal protection litigation at the Humane Society of the United States, said: “The Andersons are apparently incapable of abiding by any basic standards when it comes to selling puppies. We hope that the court will make sure these dealers are not profiting off the sale of sick, puppy-mill bred dogs.”

The Andersons are no strangers to the court. Consumers argue that the Andersons have continued to violate a court order and the terms of a settlement agreement that the parties entered into more than three years ago, by selling puppies from substandard breeding facilities and violating disclosure requirements as to where the puppies they sell come from. Consumers are still receiving sick puppies. The settlement agreement was the product of a 2007 class-action lawsuit filed on behalf of members of The Humane Society of the United States and more than 100 individuals. The lawsuit said the couple violated Florida’s animal and consumer protection laws in grievous ways, including false and deceptive claims that they sold only healthy puppies from reputable breeders.

However, only a month after the agreement was signed in 2009, the Andersons were back in business, selling puppies again and making false claims about their origins. In May 2010, the court fined the Andersons $26,625 as well as imposing other penalties for having “knowingly, willfully and flagrantly” violated the terms of the agreement. The Andersons have sold puppies under several names, including the original, Wizard of Claws, as well as Teacup Puppy Store. They also have an online presence, as and

Dear Broward County Court,

Please shut down the Andersons once and for all. They have shown that they will not abide by agreements and are willing to disregard the courts. The Andersons should face criminal charges and never be allowed to own or sell animals again. Not only are the puppies they sell in danger in a puppy mill, but consumers who unwittingly get a sickly puppy are being lied to when they are told the puppies are healthy and from reputable breeders.

Stop the Andersons from exploiting any more animals or customers. Shut down these infamous puppy sellers and protect the public and the animals.

Many years ago I tried to help a dying elephant at some run down “zoo” in Fla. and the USDA refused to help or intercede. ANimals in Fl are allowed to be tortured, and bred by the thousands and as I like to quote”THE LAW ALLOWS WHAT HONOR DOES NOT”. I also feel that it is necessary to take the law into your own hands when the authorities????? refuse to do their jobs!!!!!!
