Don’t Allow New Dolphin Eating Theme Park

Target: Taiji, Japan Mayor Kazutaka Sangen

Goal: Stop the establishment of theme park where you can swim with dolphins, then eat them

The town of Taiji, Japan, known for the slaughter of dolphins as documented in the documentary “The Cove,” has new plans for dolphin cruelty. The town plans to open a theme park where visitors can swim and kayak with dolphins then also get the opportunity to taste this marine life.

Even more unfortunate, the purpose of this creation is aimed to preserve the practice of the annual dolphin slaughter. Eventually, the town would like to enforce this project on a larger scale. It plans to turn the whole town into a theme park where you can swim with and taste marine life. The whole town is virtually slowing turning into a town aimed toward the efforts of animal cruelty and slaughter.

This cruelty towards marine life cannot progress any further. The park is to be created in five years, enabling the exploitation and murder of marine life. The town of Taiji argues that marine hunting is part of its cultural and culinary tradition. Many activists suggest that Taiji could emphasize its history of marine slaughter by for example, exhibiting ancient whale hunting ships rather than continuing the violence.

Taiji needs encouragement and alternative solutions to creating tourism without violence. Please sign the petition below to help prevent this inhumane theme park from being established.

Dear Mayor Kazutaka Sangen,

Upon the recent announcement to create a theme park where visitor can swim with marine life, as well as eat it, we urge you to stop these plans and find an alternative source of tourist attractions.

It is understood that marine hunting is a large part of your culture, but it is cruel and inhumane to promote the exploitation and slaughter of these creatures. You could instead create a less violent exhibit, such as the display of the ancient whale hunting ships used in Taiji. That way, you can exhibit your cultural traditions without continuing to promote and partake in violent acts.

We ask that you please reconsider this cruel theme park and instead focus your plans on a tourist attraction that will be more successful because it will not be violent or offensive to anybody.

During WWII, Japanese officers would use Allied POWs for bayonette practice. How incredibly sick. I thought they were done with that sort of thing. Are there any Japanese people standing up for dolphins? I wish they would. They have a lot to atone for.

  7. Stop the killing of these beautiful creatures big & small that belong to GOD
