Support Country’s Animal Welfare Advancements

Target: Tirapongse Pangsrivongse, President of the Thai Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

Goal: Support efforts to advance animal welfare in Thailand

An animal welfare bill that was written over ten years ago is finally gaining momentum in Thailand. The bill aims to guarantee universal animal welfare in Thailand, as well as create awareness among the public regarding the proper treatment of animals. As a country, Thailand has had a reputation in the past for cases such as animal abuse and animal cruelty. This bill could change the country’s social reputation for the better and protect the lives of countless animals.

Along with protecting the welfare of animals, this bill aims to enforce penalties for animal abusers in order to deter their cruel behavior in the future. This bill addresses all of the animal rights issues within the country and is set on resolving those issues by educating the public about the proper treatment of animals and ways to prevent animal abuse.

After ten years, this proposed bill has seen much improvement and is finally ready to become a piece of legal legislation that will benefit the many animals living in Thailand. So far, the proposed bill has gained nearly 11,500 signatures garnered by the Thai Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and it is still under consideration by the National Legislative Assembly. Sign this petition and join the TSPCA in their tireless efforts to support the passage of this animal welfare bill.

About time!!!! Let’s hope they’re serious about this and succeed, then they can influence countries like China to do the same.

  2. Jane Howard says:

  3. Other countries like China and other eastern countries should follow this exemple. Arrest animals cruelty.

  4. Please keep this effort as an on going. Many Thais go to temple, have kind heart, and big smile. This is so contrary to the way people treat animals, they can watch and pass by the suffering of animals, and dumped them at the temples.
