Goal: Give man maximum legal sentence if he is found guilty of shooting two dogs.
Sean Christopher Winfield allegedly shot two innocent dogs in less than a 24-hour period. He needs to go to prison and pay the appropriate fines if he is found guilty of this thoughtless animal cruelty.
Although Winfield claims he shot the dogs because he was afraid they would attack him, the evidence appears to point to a more sinister motive. Witnesses further told police that one dog was simply trying to cross the street when the animal was attacked. The owner of the second dog told authorities that his animal was shot after approaching Winfield.
Winfield may be found guilty on two counts of animal cruelty and two counts of violating a firearms ordinance, since the gun was allegedly shot within 100 yards of a residence. Sign this petition and demand the maximum sentence and fine be sought for Winfield if it is found he committed these heinous acts of animal cruelty.

Dear District Attorney Freeman,
Sean Christopher Winfield is facing animal cruelty charges, as well as charges for violating a firearms ordinance, after it was allegedly discovered that he shot two dogs near his home on the same day. It is important that he go to prison and be charged the appropriate fine if he is found guilty, to better ensure other animals in the community will not be harmed.
According to onlookers, one dog was shot while walking across the street. A second animal that works to help children overcome their fear of dogs was later allegedly shot after they walked up to the accused party. Although both dogs survived, they will likely experience physical pain and mental anguish for the rest of their lives. Additionally, Winfield probably scared other residents in the surrounding area by allegedly shooting his firearm in a residential neighborhood. For these reasons, we demand you seek the harshest legal sentence for Winfield if it is discovered he is guilty of committing these inexcusable acts.

He must serve 8 years in prison with no early parole, pay a $400,000 fine, be banned for life from owning any type of gun & all other weapons, be banned for life from owning or going near any animals ever again. Sean Winfield is an animal abuser. He needs to be severely punished for shooting these innocent fur babies who posed no real threat to him. I wish them a speedy recovery and I hope they get justice.

Unfortunately the State of Texas has no Law to protect Livestock Dogs. Property Owners can shoot any dog on their property. In other words OPEN SEASON on dogs. I’ve lost 5 Livestock Dogs from neighbor shooting my dogs. As dogs trespassed on his property. Predators run wild from Mountain Lions to coyotes. Stock Dogs protect my miniature horses. No Law to protect animals.

Animal cruelty crimes continue because the individuals who commit these heinous crimes are likely not prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law or they just receive a “slap on the wrist” by prosecutors l!! Existing animal cruelty laws are underutilized and they are also outdated. If this individual is found guiltily, punish him to the fullest extent of the law and nothing less!!
