Goal: Give man maximum legal sentence if he is found guilty of shooting two dogs.
Sean Christopher Winfield allegedly shot two innocent dogs in less than a 24-hour period. He needs to go to prison and pay the appropriate fines if he is found guilty of this thoughtless animal cruelty.
Although Winfield claims he shot the dogs because he was afraid they would attack him, the evidence appears to point to a more sinister motive. Witnesses further told police that one dog was simply trying to cross the street when the animal was attacked. The owner of the second dog told authorities that his animal was shot after approaching Winfield.
Winfield may be found guilty on two counts of animal cruelty and two counts of violating a firearms ordinance, since the gun was allegedly shot within 100 yards of a residence. Sign this petition and demand the maximum sentence and fine be sought for Winfield if it is found he committed these heinous acts of animal cruelty.

Dear District Attorney Freeman,
Sean Christopher Winfield is facing animal cruelty charges, as well as charges for violating a firearms ordinance, after it was allegedly discovered that he shot two dogs near his home on the same day. It is important that he go to prison and be charged the appropriate fine if he is found guilty, to better ensure other animals in the community will not be harmed.
According to onlookers, one dog was shot while walking across the street. A second animal that works to help children overcome their fear of dogs was later allegedly shot after they walked up to the accused party. Although both dogs survived, they will likely experience physical pain and mental anguish for the rest of their lives. Additionally, Winfield probably scared other residents in the surrounding area by allegedly shooting his firearm in a residential neighborhood. For these reasons, we demand you seek the harshest legal sentence for Winfield if it is discovered he is guilty of committing these inexcusable acts.

I’ve been attacked by a dog, pit bull…. Honestly if you stay calm they DO let go. Difficult, but not impossible. And yeah, pain fucking hurts but it’s doing what dogs DO. It doesn’t deserve to die for it.

If we do not hold this person accountable these deaths will continue to rise. It seems people have the assumption they can kill an animal if they feel like it. Would this man appreciate it if a neighbor shot one of his kids? Having a bad day does not make it okay to shoot an innocent animal or a child. Dogs are beloved members of families. They are a child to a family. This man must go to trial and hopefully prison. He must pay all medical expenses for these dogs and fines as well. We need a country wide system of laws to protect our animals and kids from someone such as this.
