Elderly Horse Apparently Assaulted With Rocks in Nighttime Attack Deserves Justice

Target: Maricopa County District Attorney Alister Adel

Goal: Pursue maximum punishment of two men accused of viciously attacking horse.

Two men were allegedly caught on camera hitting an elderly horse and throwing rocks at him. The attack apparently lasted half an hour while the horse was trapped in his pen. The horse, named Indy, is 30 years old and is retired.

Indy’s owner stated, “This is supposed to be [his] good ole days, and then this happens.”

The owners first realized something was wrong when they noticed some rocks in Indy’s pen while they were feeding him. “We saw a river rock in his pen,” said owner, Sean Pietsch. “So we checked the security cameras and that’s when we discovered two individuals had come into the yard at 1 a.m. and were in here for about 30 minutes straight — assaulting the horses, throwing river rocks at them, punching them. All kinds of horrible, horrible things.”

Per the security camera footage, the attackers fled when the owner stepped out on to his porch in the middle of the night. “I almost feel guilty that I was 200 feet away and didn’t know, and didn’t stop it,” Sean said. “He was crashing into the rails, trying to do everything to get away from them — to get out of his pen.”

Recently, sheriff’s deputies arrested two individuals and charged them with this alleged crime. The suspects are facing trial on the charges. Ask prosecutors to vigorously pursue this case.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Adel,

Two individuals were recently arrested and charged with burglary and animal cruelty charges for an alleged attack on an elderly horse. The horse is 30 years old and was locked in his pen when the suspects reportedly attacked him with rocks and their fists.

The attack appears to have gone on for 30 minutes until the owner just happened to come out on his porch. While the horse survived the attack, he is facing severe emotional trauma from this incident.

I ask that you please devote all resources necessary to fully and vigorously prosecute the two individuals accused of this heinous crime.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. Humans have this insane urge to harm animals who cant fight back.. this shows a decline in the society which is suppose to be civilized but when our courts let those who harm animals on purpose with all intent to harm them lets them off with a warning which means nothing to those with criminal minds and no conscious it does nothing but wont get caught next time and there will be a next time.. humanity is regressing to tribal actions and do not feel anything for the animals they harm.. what’s next children because they will attack the weak!

    • Judy, you are so right. Light laws and sentences do not stop evil people. I see so much “tribal” action in politics and people spewing insults in public, things we olders were taught not to do, … and I think this has gone over into many other areas, such as animal abuse. The whole human species, societies all over the world, have regressed — we were “supposed” to become more civilized as time went on, but we are much worse. You ask about children? — yes, children are always the brunt of savagery, b/c they are smaller and weaker (why women get beat up by men also). I refuse to give up and let the bullies win. KEEP FIGHTING FOR JUSTICE.

This act of violence is absolutely sickening. What gives people the right to step on other people’s property and inflict harm on other people’s pets? Just blows my mind i wouldn’t step on other people’s property without asking, guess i was raised in a different time.
I pray that horse is alright, just not right.

  3. Deborah Carnero says:

I think these 2 idiots should be plac s in a pen & have people abuse them. What gives people the right to go on other people’s property & abuse an animal that is innocent & doesn’t know what is happening. Cruel humans! Their parent must be real proud.

    • Jackie Cardello says:

Completely agree! Put them in a pen and throw rocks and punch them. I’ll be first in line. Who the F are these sick monsters?? Who does this? Surely we don’t want them free living among us. Who knows what else they are capable of. Thank God there was a camera!

    • Yes totally agree

  4. Stone the two men who did this! Stone them to the brink of death!

  5. Just why? Put them in jail seriously dangerous

  6. Veronica Figueiredo says:

I couldn’t agree more with the other comments: we NEED TO HAVE HARSHER PUNISHMENT for these criminal minds who ABUSE and TORTURE DEFENSELESS and VOICELESS beings. Our “justice system” is VERY WEAK and TOTALLY UNFAIR when related to the poor animals. We need LAWMAKERS to work on DECENT LAWS to protect them against us!!!

  7. Hold the assailants accountable!

  8. FIND THOSE MONSTERS WHO DID THIS TO THAT POOR HORSE AND LOCK THEM UP IN JAIL. LET EVERYONE WHO WANTS COME AND THROW ROCKS TO THEM TOO. DAY AFTER DAY, WEEK AFTER WEEK, MONTH AFTER MONTH, YEAR AFTER YEAR. NO MERCY.

  9. We as a so called civilized society need to stop giving these POS’s a slap on the wrist. They never learn from that. Just like giving a “Time-Out”. They need a punishment that will make them NOT want to do it again (like it used to be).

  10. Samina Araf says:

SEND THESE EVIL SCUM OF THE EARTH TO ME! BELIEVE ME IF THEY DON’T BEG FOR DEATH I’M NOT MY FATHERS DAUGHTER!!! HELL WILL BE HEAVEN FOR THEM COMPARED TO WHAT I’D DO WITH THEM!!!

  11. These monsters need to be found and brought to justice. If not they will commit more crimes. Don’t let this go unresolved.

  12. THROW STONES AND ROCKS AT THESE 2 CRUEL IDIOTS TO JUST BEFORE THEIR DEATHS AND LET THEM SUFFER THE REST OF THE WAY OUT!!! NO ONE SHOULD RENEDER AID TO THESE 2 CRUEL IDIOTS AFTER GETTING RICKED AND STONED!!!!!!

  13. There’s little to no repercussion for the crime for these scum, it should be life in prison or the death penalty, not a slap on the wrist type of punishment! Because, it’s a known fact from Psychologists, any type of therapist, and doctor’s research prove and show those who abuse animals WILL CONTINUE to abuse and kill animals and WILL abuse or kill people… Why aren’t more strict punishable laws passed to protect animals is the real question! So many in Society have normalized abuse in every form human and nonhuman. The difference is these pos trash select animals who cannot defend themselves or are seniors, try that with a wolf, bear, cougar, mountain lion you weak pathetic parasites!!

  14. Cathy McCormick says:

Sickening! Repulsive! Disgusting! These two POS animal abusers deserve the absolute maximum penalty! Lock them up and throw away the key because they are lower than sewer water!

  15. Rose Coffey says:

I don’t sound like a nice person but it would be nice if someone caught these 2 sickos and beat them up. And if I were a judge I would compliment the ones who found and beat these 2 up.

  16. Michelle Stewart says:

They each must spend 5 years in prison with no early parole, each pay a $300,000 fine, and each be banned for life from owning or going near any animals ever again. Real justice would be to beat both those guys up so bad that they wished they were dead.

  17. Monica Lee Koski says:

This is both heartbreaking and sickening! The two cruel monsters, who purposefully and senselessly abused this poor horse, must be charged and prosecuted for felony animal cruelty and abuse, and given a maximum sentence to include mandatory jail time @ the very least! The penalty for cruelty like this must fit the horrendous crime!

  18. MICHAEL BAVARO says:

CONVICT THE TWO PIECES OF CRAP, THEN LOCK THEM IN A CELL SO THE OWNER CAN THROW ROCKS AT THEM AND LET THEM DIE.

  19. Let’s have a good old fashioned stoning for these two. These two aren’t fit to live on this planet!!

  20. TIME TO PAY!!!! God does not forget!
