Target: The adoptive parent and savior of a chimpanzee
Goal: Recognize the donor that liberated a chimpanzee from solitary confinement
A chimpanzee named J.R. spent decades in solitary confinement inside of a cramped, dirty cage. The roadside zoo that kept J.R. received numerous animal welfare complaints. After that horrendous experience, J.R. was moved to another roadside zoo where he often yelled in agony, paced around his cage, and bit his arms. According to PETA, this behavior is a symptom of psychological trauma due to confinement. Now, thanks to an anonymous donor, J.R. is living in a chimpanzee paradise in Florida. His new home is a lush sanctuary, with a healthy diet, room to explore, and new chimpanzee friends. This donor should have recognition for his or her contribution to J.R.’s quality of life.
J.R. was separated from his mother as a baby. His captors then forced him to join the circus and perform odd tricks for onlookers. J.R. has never had interaction with other chimpanzees. At his new home, called Save the Chimps Animal Sanctuary, J.R. is slowly being introduced to other chimpanzees. Eventually, he will join more than 250 other chimps to live naturally in a lush environment.
J.R. and his generous friend can teach us all how animals should be treated. Animals are not meant to live in isolation and/or a cage. Animals are meant to freely express themselves in their natural habitat. Please sign the petition below to recognize J.R.’s donor and spread awareness for all animals that still suffer in captivity.
Thank you for your generosity towards J.R. He suffered too long in psychological terror as his captors deprived him of any social interaction or a healthy living environment. J.R. experienced psychosis due to his undeserved torment.
Thanks to you, J.R. can spend the rest of his days learning how to enjoy life as a chimp at Save the Chimps Sanctuary. Your action should be noticed and commended in the animal rights community. Thank you for your kind support. We can only hope others follow suit to help animals that cannot help themselves.
