Demand University Stop Using Animals for Research

University of Florida

Target: University of Florida President Bernie Machen

Goal: Demand that the University of Florida stop torturing monkeys for research

An animal rights organization has filed a federal complaint against the University of Florida for providing a “culture of negligence” towards its lab animals. Monkeys, who have the misfortune of being used for research at the University, are subjected to torturous tests before they are euthanized. It is time for this animal abuse and murder to stop at the University of Florida.

Eleventh Hour for Animals have done extensive work investigating the University of Florida. Their investigators uncovered photographs of monkeys being injected in the face with an unknown substance that left them with painful, red rashes. Photographs of monkeys undergoing gratuitous surgeries were also revealed. The University of Florida also imprisons horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, pigs, dogs and cats for its research.

Emeritus Graduate Research Professor Raymond J. Bergeron, Ph.D. has done everything in his power to prevent activists from observing the horrors that these animals endure in his labs. Bergeron filed complaints against animal activists with Negotiation is Over (NIO), claiming that they were stalking him. According to Empty All Cages, the University of Florida also petitioned the courts to “seize all computers, cell phones, drives, cameras, and other electronics and personal papers” from the founder of NIO. Clearly, Professor Bergeron and the University of Florida have something that they want to keep hidden.

Eleventh Hour for Animals is working hard to obtain vital information from the University that will further reveal the terrible treatment that these lab animals endure. By signing the petition below, you will help to encourage University of Florida President Bernie Machen to shut down the University’s torturous and deadly animal research program.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear President Bernie Machen,

I was disappointed to learn that the University of Florida is providing a “culture of negligence” towards its lab animals. Monkeys, who have the misfortune of being used for research at the University, are subjected to torturous tests before they are euthanized.

Perhaps you are unaware that animal rights investigators uncovered photographs of monkeys being injected in the face with an unknown substance that left them with painful, red rashes. Photographs of monkeys undergoing gratuitous surgeries were also revealed.

This treatment is inhumane, horrific and cruel. It needs to stop. I am asking you to use your power and influence to shut down the University’s torturous and deadly animal research program.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
