Save Pit Bulls From Being Euthanized

Target: Autauga County District Judge Joy Booth

Goal: Save ten fighting dogs from being euthanized after they were rescued from an abusive dog-fighting operation

Ten fighting dogs that were recently rescued from an abusive fighting operation may now be put down due to a petition that was filed by the county’s animal control officer. The document requested that all the animals be euthanized for reasons which have not yet been made public. Urge the Autauga County District Judge, Joy Booth, to save these dogs from being killed at the Prattville-Autauga Humane Shelter.

The deputies in rural Autaugaville, Alabama, that confiscated ten mixed breed pit bulls from the operation also found two additional dog cadavers in a wooded area. The live animals were discovered chained around a shabby fighting pit and many were severely malnourished with open wounds from bites and scratches. It is not known how long the dogs were made to fight, but it is clear that they were cruelly treated and subjected to frequent torture.

Now that the dogs have been rescued, the local animal control is endeavoring to kill them. For reasons that were not openly stated, an animal control officer submitted a petition asking that all of the dogs be put down. It can be assumed that he believes housing them at the shelter will prove to be difficult, or perhaps that the local community perceives them to be a threat to public safety. In response to the petition, Judge Joy Booth claimed that she would soon file a formal order with a decision to either put the animals down or take other action.

With encouragement, Booth may choose to give these animals a second chance.

Because fighting dogs are frequently and successfully rehabilitated, there is no logical reason to put them down now that they have been rescued. Many organizations, including the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), work tirelessly to treat former fighting dogs and relocate them to loving homes. With a bit of effort, the Prattville-Autauga Humane Shelter can surely find such a place to rehabilitate these ones. It would be cruel to do otherwise.

Urge Judge Booth not to euthanize these dogs, but to show compassion by sending them to a rehabilitation center instead.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Autauga County District Judge Joy Booth,

You recently received a petition requesting that ten rescued fighting dogs be put down at the Prattville-Autauga Humane Shelter. I vehemently oppose this suggestion and urge you to show compassion to these innocent dogs by relocating them to a rehabilitation center instead.

Fighting operations are not only cruel, but also illegal, and victims of crime should not be punished for being mistreated. This would be an outrage. These dogs are innocent and they deserve to live with loving families who will help them recover. Please grant them this second chance at life.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

This is a hard thing. But fighting of dogs is cruel and not entertaining. All animals including dogs should be given a second chance, even a pit bull. Find a rehabilitation center instead.

  2. Pure infantile primitivism – what kind of unhumane monsters are able to handle and destroy LIVING BREATHING CREATURES in that way is unbelievable.

“While we ourselves are the living graves of murdered beasts, how can we expect any ideal positions on this earth?”
    George Bernhard Shaw

People need to vote unacting authorities and officials acting irresponsibly to futuregenerations and living creatures out of occupations ONCE AND FOR ALL!

DEFORMED UNHUMANE MONSTERS SHOULD BE SEPARATED AND LOCKED AWAY FROM CIVILIZED CITIZENS FOR DON´T DISTURB THEIR FEELINGS IN A NONHUMANE WAY!

    MONSTERHUNTERS NEEDED

HOW CAN HUMANS ARE AS MONSTEROUS AS YOU, PERSONS RESPONSIBLE, LET A LIVING CREATURE IN THIS SITUATION – HOPE YOU EARN THE RESULT AS YOU DESERVES!

THESE KILLING- AND DESTROYING-HABITS ARE TO STOP – UNBEARABLY FOR CIVILIZED BRAINHAVING SOCIETIES AND NOT EXEMPLARY FOR CHILDREN.

  3. It’s more likely that these dogs can be rehabilitated than the captors that held them in these sad conditions.

  4. Lisbeth Alvarado Sanchez says:

This pitbulls are the victims of horrible humans and shouldn’t be killed. The ones who tortured them deserve the death sentence instead of this innocent dogs. Pitbulls deserve a second chance and forever loving homes.

  5. Margaret Lovick says:

Any humane being would and should know that this is wrong!!!! Animals feel – they love – they guard us – they heal us – I could go on and on and then sickos and abusers get away with their behavior!!! I keep praying that the Lord will be there and take their souls quickly before they suffer but sadly to say – they suffer – don;t ignore it – BE THEIR VOICE AND KEEP MAKING PIT BULLS A FOCUS – PIT BULLS ARE SO LOVEABLE AND THEY SUFFER FOR THEIR BREED – SUCH ASHAME

  6. The nature of their behaviour is not like that. It’s only the evil humans that trained the pitbulls to do the terrible fighting as they wish to make profit out of them – pitbulls cannot speak and defend for themselves and are therefore innocent and are victims of those evil humans who can do anything for a buck. The pitbulls are definitely deserved for a second chance to start a new page of their lives as long as they can be kept away from the evil humans!

  7. Chris Speechly says:

You’re considering putting down the wrong players; the idiots who participate in this “sport” so indelibly ingrained in Southern culture should be forced to finance all costs associated with their victims’ recovery and then do the gene pool a favour and check out suicide options.

  8. The only creatures that should be euthanized, are the county’s animal control officer for suggesting that the innocent dogs be MURDERED and the criminals and perverts who organised and attended the dog fights.
